St. James Supports Building
Habitat for Humanity – Quad Cities
50th Habitat Home

Fifty Quad City area churches have been asked to help Habitat for Humanity - Quad Cities by sponsoring the construction of the 50th Habitat home. The St. James Church Council has pledged $1500 to be raised for this house. The West Rock Island County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide supplemental funds from their Care Abounds in the Community Program. You may make donations in the Habitat for Humanity envelope or your regular offering envelope designating Habitat for Humanity 50th Home.

Ground was broken in July at 1505 8th Avenue in East Moline and the new home for a Habitat partner family will be dedicated in November.  Kristi Crafton, executive director for the local Habitat affiliate, hopes the 50 churches will jointly fund the project and bring a team of volunteers to build or provide lunch at least one work day at the build site.

Three St. James Lutheran Church projects will support this Habitat effort with Thrivent help:

Four St. James members have signed-up so far to go with him. There will be time for questions and answers about both the local Habitat homes and the missions trip to Camp Biloxi.
